TAIR short description |
SECONDARY WALL-ASSOCIATED NAC DOMAIN 1, NAC SECONDARY WALL THICKENING PROMOTING 3, NAC domain containing protein 12 (.1) |
TAIR annotation |
Encodes SND1, a NAC Domain transcription factor involved in secondary wall biosynthesis in fibers. Expressed specifically in interfascicular fibers and xylary fibers in stems. Expressed in the procambium of stem inflorescences and root. May act as a negative regulator of secondary wall thickening in xylary fibers. Acts redundantly with NST1 to control development of secondary walls in siliques. (.1) |

CRES-T phenotype from individual project
|
ectpic secondary wall thickenings occur when over-expressed. No phenotype when TFSRDX was expressed by 35S. Loss of secondary xylem in stem and silique was observed at low frequency when TFSRDX was expressed by own promoter.
abnormal silique (direct input),
fragile stem (direct input)
